This loan origination software comparison puts four platforms side by side using only what each vendor publishes: nCino, MeridianLink, Blend and LoanPro. They differ in who they sell to, which loans they handle, where they operate and how they charge. nCino and MeridianLink sell mainly to banks and credit unions, Blend focuses on mortgage and consumer banking, and LoanPro pairs origination with loan servicing for lenders and fintechs.

How each platform positions itself

nCino describes a cloud banking platform for commercial, small business, consumer and mortgage lending, plus client onboarding and account opening. Its Integration Gateway connects core banking systems, credit bureaus and third-party applications, with pre-built connectors named for Equifax, DocuSign and Jack Henry. nCino says it moved from seat-based pricing to subscription fees aligned with the assets of the business lines it supports.

MeridianLink sells MeridianLink One, used by community banks, credit unions and mortgage lenders for consumer loans, mortgages and digital account opening. It says it serves more than 1,800 community financial institutions in the United States. Its mortgage system lists a pricing engine, point-of-sale, document management and integrations for e-signature, credit and compliance. Centerbridge Partners completed its acquisition of MeridianLink in 2025.

Blend focuses on mortgage and home equity applications, consumer loans and deposit account opening, and markets Blend Autopilot, an AI agent that reviews borrower documents. Blend’s annual report says its customers are currently based in the United States and that it charges on completed transactions.

LoanPro is an API-first lending and credit platform. Its Origination Suite covers application, underwriting and funding and hands the loan to servicing in real time; its servicing, payments and collections suites run on the same ledger. For credit card programs, LoanPro provides the credit ledger and servicing layer and connects to the client’s issuing processor.

Which one fits which lender

  • Bank or credit union with commercial and small business lending: nCino is the only one of the four that names commercial and small business origination.
  • Community institution with consumer and mortgage volume: MeridianLink and Blend both name consumer lending, mortgage and account opening; their fee models differ (per application or funded loan vs per completed transaction).
  • Fintech or lender that needs origination and servicing together: LoanPro combines both and covers lines of credit and card programs.

For servicing after the loan is funded, see also Canopy, which positions itself as the post-origination ledger for business lenders. For the selection process, read how to choose a loan origination system.
