This privacy notice explains what remwm collects when you read the site or contact the editors.
It covers what the site’s hosting providers receive with each request, the first-party analytics that set no cookie, the Google Analytics tag that does, what the contact form records and why, who can read form messages, and the rights you may have to access, correct or delete your data.
When you read the site
You can read every page without an account. Like any website, the site’s hosting and network providers receive your IP address and browser details with each request, to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Analytics
The site counts page views, referring sources, internal searches, clicks on outbound links, form submissions and page-speed measurements with its own first-party analytics. This measurement sets no cookie.
Every public page also loads the Google tag for Google Analytics when the page is viewed. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar identifiers to measure visits, and Google receives technical request data from your browser, such as your IP address and the pages you view, under its own terms. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can block Google Analytics with your browser’s content-blocking controls or Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, email address, a topic, your message and, for a correction, the page concerned. The site also records the time of the submission, your IP address and browser details, to administer the form and protect it from spam and misuse. We use the message to answer you and, for a correction, to check the page against its primary source. Sending a message does not subscribe you to anything.
Authorized site administrators can read form submissions. Hosting and technical service providers may process data to operate the site. We do not sell or rent personal data.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies, as described under Analytics. Staff who sign in to manage the site use an essential session cookie; ordinary reading does not need it. You can inspect, block or delete cookies and other site data in your browser settings and use content-blocking controls for third-party requests.
Your rights
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may be able to ask for access to, correction of or deletion of the personal data we hold about you, and to object to its use. Send the request through the contact form and use the email address you used before, if the request concerns an earlier message.
Changes to this notice
When what the site collects changes, this page is updated.
