The rules every remwm guide, profile, data page and news item follows before it is published.

Our editorial policy sets one standard for everything remwm publishes. Facts come from primary sources, each carries its source and the date we checked it, and nothing on the site is a recommendation or legal advice. The same rules apply to paid content, which is labeled and never changes our data. This page lists the rules and the checks a piece must pass before publication.

Sourcing rules

  • Primary sources only. A fact is published only with a primary source: a regulator’s docket or register, a law or rule, a court record, or the company’s own documentation, filings and announcements. Other outlets are leads to follow, never the source we cite.
  • Source and date on the page. Tables carry a source line with the date checked; every piece ends with a Sources section.
  • Names as published. Laws, regulators, orders and products are named exactly as their publisher names them, in US English spelling.

Facts we never publish

  • Ratings, stars, scores, reviews or “we tested” claims.
  • Experts, credentials or quotes we did not obtain from a named, real source.
  • Prices, client counts or partner banks a provider does not publish. A field stays empty instead.
  • Promises such as guaranteed sponsor-bank approval or “no licence needed”.
  • Legal, tax or investment advice.

Enforcement records

An enforcement action is a fact about a bank, not a verdict on it or its partners. We state whether each order is in force or terminated and what it restricts, and we take the status only from the regulator’s own record, with the document number. Where secondary sources disagree with the docket, the docket wins. Records are never edited at a bank’s request; see the methodology.

Market figures

A market figure is published only with a named source and a date. Consulting and vendor estimates are labeled as estimates and attributed.

Freshness

Figures older than 90 days carry a “may be outdated” note until they are checked again. The enforcement tracker is refreshed weekly, sponsor-bank profiles monthly, provider profiles quarterly and best-of lists every January and when the facts behind them change.

Checks before publication

Every piece is checked against the rules on this page before it goes live: each fact against its source, each date against the record, and each internal link against a live page. A piece that fails a check is not published.

Bylines

Articles appear under remwm Editors, the byline of the editorial desk. Quotes and expert views come only from named people in published sources.

Paid content

Paid content is labeled “Sponsored” or “Press release” and follows the sponsored content policy. Tracker data, enforcement statuses, sponsor-bank profiles and best-of selection criteria are never for sale.
