Zip named Column N.A. as a second Zip Column bank partner on October 19, 2026. Column will serve as a bank partner for Zip’s unsecured installment lending products in the United States. Zip said the move diversifies its bank relationships, supports funding cost efficiencies and strengthens operational resilience. Column is a nationally chartered bank supervised by the OCC.

What changes

With Column added, Zip’s US installment products have more than one bank partner behind them. The announcement frames the deal as an expansion of Zip’s banking partnerships, not a replacement.

Rory Herriman, President and Interim CEO of Zip US, and Brian Fishbein, Chief Investment Officer of Column N.A., both commented in the release. Column describes itself as a bank that enables national lending, runs API-based loan origination partnerships and funds lenders through debt financing and loan purchases.

Column is listed in FDIC BankFind as Column National Association, certificate 58224, with the OCC as its primary regulator and Salt Lake City as its location. Our Column provider profile covers the bank’s API services and payment rails.

Why a second bank matters

A single bank partner is a single point of failure for a lender. If that bank changes its risk appetite, pauses new programs or comes under a regulator’s order, every loan the fintech originates through it is affected. Zip’s own stated reasons, funding cost and operational resilience, match the case for spreading originations across banks.
