Tech Mahindra said on October 23, 2026 that it has acquired Finastra’s cash management product suite: Fusion Cash Management, Fusion Virtual Accounts and Fusion Liquidity Management. “The acquisition of Finastra’s Cash Management product suite strengthens our banking products portfolio and expands our ability to support financial institutions across critical cash and liquidity management needs,” said Anil Venuturupalli, SVP, Banking Group and Chief Product Officer, Financial Services, at Tech Mahindra.
Ruchir Purwar, Head of Partnerships and Cross Selling Sales at Finastra, called it “a good next step for these products, and, most importantly, for the customers who rely on them.”
From implementation partner to owner
The two companies already worked together. On August 1, 2024, Tech Mahindra announced that it would become Finastra’s exclusive global implementation partner for its Cash Management platform, and the preferred partner for its Trade Innovation and Corporate Channels solutions in the USA, Canada and Europe. The new release says the deal also brings in Tech Mahindra’s Finastra Centre of Excellence and that existing partnership.
Why it matters for platforms and banks
Cash management software is the bank-side layer behind corporate payables, receivables and balance reporting. Virtual accounts are a core part of it: one physical account at the bank, with many virtual account numbers that let a corporate or platform identify who paid and allocate funds. Fintechs and software platforms that sell into corporate treasury, or that rely on a bank’s virtual account service, sit on top of systems like these.
A change of vendor ownership does not change a bank’s API on day one. It does put product roadmaps, support contracts and API connectivity under a new owner. Tech Mahindra says corporate and institutional banks want real-time cash visibility, liquidity optimization, automated payables and receivables and API-enabled treasury connectivity, and that it plans to keep investing in the platform. For the bank-API side of that picture, see API banking.
What to watch
- Whether banks running FCM, FVA or FLM receive new support or contract terms from Tech Mahindra.
